Inspiration can come in many forms...something you love, something you see, or maybe even a dream. I have dreamt of several paintings that I don't act on, why I do not know, but some I have. I wonder if it is best to follow through on all lol? 

With the photo here I previously lived near Lake Tahoe, with it being a very special place in my heart I paint it often, I am always inspired by the area. I have many reference photos and some I ask the photographer permission to paint. 

Another idea is just go somewhere you love to be, a lake, park, field of hay. Find that place, take your sketch book, easel, or just camera and an inspiration might find you.

When I find I have no inspiration I take an old painting and do one of two things, either oil it out and and refresh to better the painting or I recreate it to see how my progression has been. It to me gets my creativity flowing and then I seem to get inspired to move to something new.
